On a dark and cold November Saturday evening, the Rotary Club of Bolsover and Bolsover Drama Group combined to deliver a night of fun and fund raising. The result was a very successful charity race night in the parish rooms. There were all the characteristics of a major horse race with jockeys, owners, bookies, horses and, of course, punters.

The event also was accompanied with gourmet standard catering (pie and peas) washed down with porter and champers (real cask ale and wine).
Everybody had a great time with an estimated £ 1000 plus being raised for Rotary and Drama Group charities.

Our joint Race Night on November 4th with The Bolsover Drama Group raised a grand total of £1200. Pictured (Right to left) are Bolsover Group’s Chairman Mick Whitehouse, Rotary President Rita Reed and Bolsover Drama Group member Dale Shaw being presented on stage with a cheque for £600.
